SQUARE 2027

SQUARE is a gathering and celebration of the talent that lives and works within the margins. Focusing on the connection between the continents linked by the Atlantic (Africa, the Americas, and Europe) the festival celebrates cultural diversity by creating a meeting point for emerging artists, music professionals, and new musical trends originating from these territories.
The second edition of SQUARE will take place between 27 and 30 January 2027, with its epicentre in Braga and some extensions to the cities of Famalicão, Guimarães, and Viana do Castelo. Maintaining its original structure, the festival combines a professional convention, a showcase and concert programme, and a series of clubbing and nighttime events, connecting artists, cultural agents, programmers, promoters, and audiences.
By bringing together different geographies, cultural contexts, and artistic practices, SQUARE aims to strengthen independent networks and create opportunities for circulation, collaboration, and critical thinking around contemporary music. The festival seeks to contribute to a more inclusive, sustainable, and representative ecosystem of the multiple cultural realities connected by the Atlantic.
